The Muslim Association of Greater Rockford has been a central member of the area’s community for more than 30 years. Islam is a beautiful religion of peace, knowledge, and happiness whose followers are instructed by God to respect nature and all that it provides for them. The logo is an arabesque graphic inspired by our environment. Rockford is well known as the “Forest City” so the logo should highlight our unique place and oneness with nature.

The MAGR logo has five leaves radiating from the center. These five leaves represent the five pillars of Islam reaching out into our community. The logo represents growth. The very center of the mark features the shape of the life giving star that God has provided for all living things. The Community Center is the center of our world and we carry the lessons learned here with each step we take in our daily lives. The organic mark is contrasted by the masculine structure of the san serif font of the main title creating a fantastically balanced logo.

During a strategic planning session their members stated “We as a community want to honor tradition with the need to communicate in new ways, appeal to a younger generation, and remain relevant in modern life.” Our new logo says all of these things and also identifies with our desire to be welcoming, warm, strategic, efficient and professional. Our new logo is driven by our “Ideal State.”  It is inviting, organized, creative, open minded, adaptable, clean, and disciplined.

The MAGR campaign titled “IMMERSE. INSPIRE. ISLAM.” is what defines us each individually as well as collective in humanity on our spiritual journey. When we immerse ourselves in our faith, in an absolute submission to Allah, we are inspired to live God’s plan for each of us, and in that plan find Islam’s truth. Our campaign looks to teach others and ourselves of God’s oneness and inspire each other to our perfect state of being.
